What We Offer

At Sir Edmund Hillary Academy we take children from the age of 3 years in our nursery through to 11 years.

Nursery

Our nursery offers both funded and paid places, including places available through the Working Parent Entitlement and Disadvantaged Entitlement schemes.

From the term after their third birthday, children may be eligible to access either their 15-hour Universal Entitlement or 30-hour Working Parent Entitlement, subject to eligibility criteria.

We offer morning, afternoon and full-day sessions (subject to availability). Children attending full-day sessions should bring a healthy packed lunch from home.

Nursery session times are:

  • Morning Session: 9:00am to 12:00pm
  • Afternoon Session: 12:00pm to 3:00pm

We also have a limited number of places available for an early start from 8:30am.

We provide a warm, nurturing environment where children can play, explore and develop the skills they need for a successful start to school life.

To enquire about or apply for a nursery place, please contact the school office.

Reception

Children start Reception in September of the school year in which they turn five and become of compulsory school age. Our Reception classes provide a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment where children can learn, play, and thrive.

The school day runs from 8:50am to 3:20pm, and all Reception children receive a free school lunch.

Applying for a Reception Place

To apply for a Reception place at Sir Edmund Hillary Academy, you must submit an application through Nottinghamshire County Council’s school admissions process.

We encourage families to explore our website and visit the school to discover what makes our Reception provision such a special place for children to begin their learning journey.

If you have any questions about joining our school, please contact the school office. Our team will be happy to help and guide you through the admissions process.
