Computing

At Sir Edmund Hillary Academy, we aim to equip children with the knowledge, skills and confidence to use technology safely, responsibly and creatively in an increasingly digital world.

Through our progressive computing curriculum, pupils develop their understanding of computer systems, programming, digital media and information technology while learning to think logically and solve problems.

Children learn how to create, debug and evaluate programs, use technology to communicate and present information, and understand how digital systems work.

Online safety and safeguarding are woven throughout the curriculum, ensuring pupils know how to stay safe online, protect their personal information, recognise potential risks and make sensible choices when using technology. By developing digital literacy and responsible online behaviour, we prepare children for the opportunities and challenges of modern life.
